"Casa Belmonte" is a spacious and bright apartment on the first floor of a condominium in the city centre of Como. This apartment is close to the historic city centre - approximately a two-minute walk, and to all the services you may need, making it a great starting point for exploring the city. Moreover, the blue-colored curtains, decorations and floors will add a touch of lightness to your stay, giving you a comfortable sense of relaxation.

The apartment can accommodate up to 5 people. There are two double bedrooms, a living area including a living room with a sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen - oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, washing machine, etc., and a bathroom with a shower. The apartment does not have air conditioning, but you can use fans to cool the rooms.

PARKING
There is no private parking, but it is possible to park your car on the street. The nearest street parking areas are in Via Cadorna and Piazza Vittoria. You can park your car only within the blue stripes. Pay time is from 8 am to 8 pm. You can pay at the machine and get the ticket to be put on the dashboard inside your car or use the "EasyPark" app. Moreover, in nearby Via Auguadri, there is a paid parking garage - “TRIBUNALE”. There are also other paid parking garages in the city: “VALDUCE” in Viale Lecco, “JASCA” in Piazza Volta, and “CENTRO LAGO” with an entrance in Via Recchi.

NEIGHBORHOOD
"Casa Belmonte" is located a 10/15-minute walk from the lake and is very close to the historic center of Como. The city centre, or historic centre, is home to many historical monuments, including the Como Cathedral, a Gothic cathedral dating back to the fourteenth century, and the Broletto, a medieval town hall. The lakeside promenade is ideal for walking, jogging, or cycling and offers a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
GETTING AROUND
Fifteen minutes on foot are enough to get to Como San Giovanni. From this station, there are regular trains departing to Milano Centrale and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno). From Como Nord Lago station - it will take you no more than ten minutes to get there on foot, it is possible to travel to Milano Cadorna.
In the city of Como and nearby towns, ASF Autolinee buses are in operation - the bus station is just one minute on foot from the flat. Tickets can be obtained from the driver (cash only) or in designated places (the main bus station in Piazza Matteotti, bars, and tobacco stores). Taxis are also available. However, the historical centre, the main sightseeing objects and the lake are a walking distance away from the property.
From the pier in central Como, a local ferry service will take you to Cernobbio, Torno, Bellagio, Varenna, Colico, and other lakeside towns. Please note – if traveling in high season, we advise you to be patient with long waiting lines at the ticket office. Tickets can also be bought online on the Navigazione Laghi website.
The nearest airports are Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. It is possible to arrange a direct shuttle to and from the airport at an additional cost.

TIPS
>We advise you to take a day to visit the marvelous little towns around the lake. Como city is the urban center of the area, but the little towns are gems with glorious lakeside villas.
>To travel and walk around Lake Como, especially in the little towns, comfortable shoes are a must.
>There are many public drinking-water fountains in the area, and the water is safe to drink unless stated otherwise. Tap water is also drinkable. You can carry your own refillable bottle!
>If you are looking for a relatively easy hike in the area and want to enjoy mountain views anyway, Lake Como Greenway is a wonderful, easy-to-follow trail that connects the lakeside towns from Colonno to Griante and doesn't require too much walking uphill. A bus can take you from Como to the starting point in Colonno.
>Look for traditional restaurants where you can try local foods such as Lake Como fish dishes.
>In Italy, many shops (especially the little ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so be careful to plan your shopping accordingly.
>Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who wish to dwell in the water, however, there are some options. In Como city, there is an outdoor pool near Villa Olmo, but generally swimming in the lake is prohibited in many areas. There are beaches in other lakeside towns.
Lido di Bellagio and pebbly San Giovanni beach will be waiting for those who wish to travel and explore the beautiful town of Bellagio which lies in the middle of the two Larian branches. Locals and visitors also enjoy traveling to Nesso where the bravest swimmers can jump into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.

The surrounding pre-Alps might not seem very high, but the climate is nevertheless affected by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly. Be particularly attentive to the weather when hiking, and bring some warm and waterproof clothes with you!
