Orticolario 2023: FALL in love with nature on our Lake

Whenever people think about Lake Como they probably associate it with the spring and summer seasons… but what if we tell you that it’s just as beautiful during the fall?
Not only the changing of colours makes Lake Como cozier and as romantic as ever, there’s something even more appealing to the nature lovers: the Orticolario fair.
Taking place every year in the stunning Villa Erba in Cernobbio during the first weekend of October, Orticolario is an event that centers around botany and the ways it can create art and design. Between themed gardens, rare plants and workshops there are more than 270 exhibitions going on in the park and in the exposition center.
From September 28th to October 1st you can come and check out this year’s theme: WATER and its ancestral, regenerating yet also destructive relationship with humans.
There couldn’t be a more fitting theme given the location on Lake Como and especially given how fundamental water is not only to humans but to plants and nature. Each plant has a special relationship with water and Orticolario 2023 focuses on the depth of this bond, in a journey from water lilies to cacti showcasing the different habitats in which plants live.
